Safran Reosc, subsidiary of Safran Electronics and Defense, is world leader in precision optics for astronomy and European leader in large space optics. We design and develop high performance opto-mechanics and lightweight mirrors, perform precision polishing of asphere and freeform profile down to nanometer accuracy, deposit advanced optical thin films for UV-Vis-IR applications and perform AIT activitiesin our large clean room laboratory.
Safran Reosc process conventional glassy and glass ceramic and has also made one of its key skills the polishing of Silicon Carbide mirrors.
Safran Reosc has been selected by the European Southern Observatory for the polishing of the ELT M1 segments, M2 and M3 4-m optics and M4 thin glass shells for the 39-m aperture Extremely Large Telescope, the world’s largest telescope ever built.
The visit will start by a presentation of the company and its key projects. Then a tour of the facility will allow to see some large equipment in operation and the 4-m optical shop which is under configuration to receive soon the first 4-m blank for the ELT M2 mirror.

Cancellation will only be accepted up to 15 days prior to the symposium and must be in writing. At less than 15 days from the symposium, cancellation fee will apply for (80% of the fees).
Delegates who do not cancel before the start of the symposium (February, 6th) will be liable to the full registration fees.
